Fishing in the California Delta
Fishing is a really big deal in the California Delta. At various times of year you will find folks fishing for striped bass, salmon, catfish, and even sturgeon. Some fish from the banks of the rivers and sloughs, and others fish from their boats. Depending on what type of fish you are after, you may choose to troll or simply anchor out and fish one spot. When you see a group of boats anchored in the same area and everyone seems to be fishing, you can bet that the fish are biting there. Follow their lead and who knows - you might just catch dinner!
Now, there's no way around it - if you want to catch fish, you're going to need bait. These businesses will sell you the bait, and maybe even throw in some helpful tips if you want them. Most will also sell tackle, maps, fishing licenses, ice, snacks and beverages. Located conveniently all over the California Delta, you can shop and then fish until you drop.
