Bethel Island 50's Bash
Bethel Island held its annual 50's Bash on July 18th and 19th, 2009. There were a lot of stunning vehicles on display Saturday, from muscle cars and street rods to tractors and an antique fire engine. The cars lined both sides of the main street through Bethel Island, from one end of town to the other. It was a hot summer day and the cars sparkled in the sun. There were also street vendors, food, beer, live music and even catfish races. A dog show was held in the morning, and a horse parade was scheduled as well. Sunday was slated for a motorcycle and antique boat show, more catfish racing, and a rubber ducky race at the Bethel Island bridge. This event is free, and a great way to spend a summer day in the Delta.
